今更iLife '09を入手。一番の目当てはiPhoto. 顔認識やらFacebookやFlickrへのアップロード機能やら、なかなか楽しい。
これの顔認識ってやつが面白いんだけど、どうも私の環境ではあんまり認識率が高くなかった。昔のデジカメで撮ったやつだとダメだったり。のわりに、フィルムカメラからのスキャンのは認識したり。なんなんだ。そして既にたくさんのMacユーザが報告してきた通り、「顔じゃねぇよ」っていうのもたくさん認識。

それは指です。しかもこの写真の実際の顔は認識してくれなかったw
それは有名な奈良の大仏様です。
背景にある広告の顔とか、車のタイヤとかも認識された。まぁー面白いから良し。
前のバッテリー、あんまり持たなかった、考えてみると。1年半？ 最初の純正が3年くらいだったし。今回は純正よりもパワーがあるというやつを買ってみた。4,000円弱。2回目なのでさくっと交換終了。
まだまだがんばれ第4世代。
画像の色がおかしいのは、iPhoneアプリのToyCamera使ったから。
BigCanvas PhotoShareというiPhoneのアプリが楽しい。
手に入れてからしばらく経つけど、そろそろ晒してしまおう。

これはいいアイディアだと思う。ネットですぐ贈れるし、ギフトカードだから自分の好きな曲が買えるし。
３年以上愛用している第4世代iPodのバッテリーが、最近は１時間持つか持たないかというくらいへたってきたので、交換を決意！
でもAppleカナダだとバカ高いので、自分で交換をしてみることにした。
購入したのは、Sonnetという会社のバッテリー。
So I decided to change the battery of my 4G iPod which I have been using for more than 3 years since it only lasted an hour or so lately. I was going to use the Apple's battery exchange program but discarded the idea as it was too expensive (compared to Apple Japan). Then I found a store that sells iPod batteries and ordered one.
ビデオを見た感じだと、青い工具を使ってひょひょい！とiPodを開けてたんだけど、私がやってみると全然開かないんだけど！！！ 隙間に工具を差し込めても、パカっとは開かない…。長い奮闘の末、自前のマイナスドライバーの力も借りて、ようやくiPodを開けることができた。開けるの難しいわ、ホント。開いて良かったよ。iPodも傷つかなかったし。
The toughest part was opening the iPod. In the video (in the CD-ROM) it seemed so easy and the person opened an iPod within a minute but geez it took me a lot of effort to open mine! After struggling for 15 min. or so I finally managed to open my iPod with a help from a minus screwdriver. The blue thingey was just not enough for me to open the iPod. I'm glad I didn't leave any big scratches on my iPod.
この次の難関は、バッテリー外し。接着剤でペターっと張り付いてるので、ロジックボードに触れないようにしながら慎重に慎重にバッテリーをはがさないといけなくて、これもかなり時間を使った。
バッテリーが外れたらあとは簡単。バッテリーをコネクタから外して、新しいバッテリーを代わりに入れて、HDDを元に戻して、iPodの外装を元通りにはめるだけ。
ちなみに、今までiPodを振るとカラカラ小さい音がしてたんだけど、コネクタの部分のネジが外れてた。ついでにこれも付け直しておいた。色々時間かかったように感じたけど、１時間もかからなかった。
新しいiPod買うか悩んだけど、第4世代がお気に入りなのと、カナダで買うと高いので、まだまだこれに頑張ってもらうことに。
After opening, the next hard thing was peeling the old battery off from the body. It was glued to the body so I had to carefully peel it off while making sure that I don't touch the logic board. The video suggested to use a hair dryer to warm the battery to make it easier to peel it off. After taking the battery out, the rest of the procedure was really easy. I just connected the new battery and put it in, put the HDD back in, and closed the iPod. The whole process seemed to took me a long time but it was really done in less than an hour.
Yes, I thought about buying a new iPod instead but I really like my 4G iPod and iPods are just so expensive here in Canada (not interested in nano or shuffle). If I'm buying a new one I'll wait till next time I'm back in Japan. I'll stick with this one till then.

iPhone!!!! But we don't know when it will come to Canada...and I don't know if I'll still be in Canada when it does.
